16TH MAY UPDATE

24 year old Kevin Kararwa has asked ACLT to update his page on our website with the following information. Please read on...

Kevin was diagnosed with acute leukaemia in April 2012. He has received intensive chemotherapy and other very aggressive treatments but sadly that wasn't enough to beat the leukaemia.

He was then told he needed a matching bone marrow donor to beat the cancer. After a worldwide search of volunteer donor registries and donor appeals set up by ACLT charity a match could not be found. This was devastating news for Kevin and his family and friends. Doctors decided his only chance was to have a ‘50% matched' transplant donation from his younger brother.

Kevin has just been told the leukaemia is back. Doctors informed him last Friday 9th May 2014 that there is nothing more they can do...

Despite all of this, Kevin wants people to realise that they can BE the difference.

He feels strongly that the fight for life must continue. Kevin has a simple wish... for 2,400 (100 people for each year of his life) people to join the UK bone marrow register NOW and to give other people diagnosed with blood cancer/disorders a fighting chance of life.

Please don't read this, sit back and wait for someone else to step up. Each of you needs to know 'YOU' can be the Good Samaritan who just couldn't walk on by without doing their bit
